Default Does anyone ever really win these things?

So I got to thinking last night while I was out for one of the pre season football games with a buddy of mine. Does anyone ever win these contests you see at the gas station that says 1 million gallons of gas for free play here or my personal favorite, the one from Mickey D's where you play monopoly. Has anyone ever won the million dollars? Are these games just a joke to get us to spend our hard earned money in false hope of winning millions? Discuss OOT.

I work at Bally's and we have about 50 Contest boxes around the neighborhood. No one ever wins. We just take the slip and try to sign them up.

i cried when i found out about the mcdonalds monopoly scandal. i totally bought into the monopoly thing when i was in high school.

turns out, you could never win!!! the guy with the boardwalks gave them to all his friends!!!

i'm pretty sure this covered all the monopolies up to 2001, and also covered any other contest they ran from 95-01.

ruined my faith in humanity.

One time my sister won a bike desgined by Yikes! Pencils by filling out an entry form at CVS, I think.

I got to use the bike because it was too big for her.
