Re: A Leading Question Someone Gave Me
I'd jsut say "cars don't kill people, idiots using cars kill people', maybe if teh 100,000 people killed were all the idiots who drink and drive or try to run red lights to save a few minutes off their commute then I wouldn't mind the trans atlantic transport idea.

Re: A Leading Question Someone Gave Me
1. no
2. yes [ QUOTE ] At the right price, it would make plane travel obsolete. How many people die in plane crashes every year? Certainly not 100,000 but several thousand. Yes, I'd do it. [/ QUOTE ] I think this number is a lot less. Plane crashes are very rare, they just get a lot of news coverage(rightfully so). |

[/ QUOTE ] I've heard plenty of stories where the drunk walks away with a couple bruises, but kills the family of 4 that he hits. Extremely drunk people don't tense up the last few seconds before an accident. |

Re: A Leading Question Someone Gave Me
stranger,
this is called variance. the laws of physics dont recognize whether a person is "loose" due to alcohol or whatever. there may be a slight case for your argument but nothing significant. |

Re: A Leading Question Someone Gave Me

The problem with the questions is that it blames the loss of lives on the creation of the transportation vehicle. Usually, the loss of lives can be blamed on the carelessness or stupidity of people. [/ QUOTE ] This is the correct answer To the OP, I'm guessing the person who asked you this was also anti-right to bare arms |

Re: A Leading Question Someone Gave Me
How many lives have been saved by automobiles? Directly, in the sense of increased access to hospitals (ambulances), the fire department and police. Also, the economic benefits of automobiles have certainly indirectly led to huge advances in healthcare and given more people access to such treatments.
