Just fold or call preflop with emphasis on folding. Flop is an easy fold, he probably has JJ/QQ and isn't folding. [/ QUOTE ] Ditto!!!!!!1 |

Re: This is why I hate AK....
I'll sometimes fold preflop and wait for a better spot. Our hand range UTG is pretty transparent. If his 3-bet range is wide enough then I'd 4-bet push. The problem with 4-betting like this is when they just call which they do way more often then you'd believe. Calling to his a flop is bad IMHO. If you don't hit you've donated money, if you do hit you'll either get little action because JJ-QQ will pack up their balls and leave or you'll get loads of action because you are dominated and drawing near dead.

Re: This is why I hate AK....
Sorry for posting my own hand, I didn't even want to post it at all but since I think it fits into the discussion quite well, here it is.
Effective Stacks are 175BB and implieds aren't that great given that he will slow down if overs to his TT-QQ come. Reverse Implied odds are quite big though if he has KK or AA an the case A/K comes out there. I would have to hit a miragle Flop of TJQ to maybe stack his set of Q's, but even then I would have to dodge his FH/Quads outs. Last option is, he has AK aswell in which case he's winning the hand as long as we don't hit and he bets the flop or we do hit put more money in and likely split it, loosing to the rake. Long story short: Easy fold to me Sugar Nut PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) CO ($47.55) Hero ($43.75) SB ($27.75) BB ($23.75) UTG ($17.05) UTG+1 ($37.05) MP1 ($4.65) MP2 ($15.85) Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 4 folds, CO raises to $1, Hero raises to $3.5, 2 folds, CO raises to $12.75, Hero folds. Final Pot: $7.35 |

Re: This is why I hate AK....
OP, call preflop. Get in on any Ace (with no Queen) or diamonds. Two pair+ is self explanatory, get in. C/c one street with a King.
