Villain is complete unknown. Initial raiser is a huge donk hence my very large reraise, villain may think my range here is wider than usual because of this. I checked the flop very quickly FWIW. So, I have to call this obv, or no?

meh....i cant fault u for calling
but no flop bet? it sure looks like SB has some PP or Ax from pf action, and i find that ppl find it hard to fold even hands like 77 on this flop |

Tough spot, esp against unknown. IME, calling OOP from the SB, then calling the 3-bet OOP is more consistent with med+ PP than Ax, but not by much.
Since you have the nut boat, I'd be inclined to call, esp since I'd consider shoving (on villain's part) with the case A to be "a move" that would potentially lose too much value if he didn't have a read how you would interpret it. As the re-raiser, you could easily have it and be slow-playing. At the table I'd probably fold, tho, cuz I'm weak-tight. |

I hate saying it, but you have to fold this. An overbet like this as a bluff only makes sense if its impossible, or at least very rare that you would have the nuts. Its entirely too possible that hes shoving into the nuts here for this ever to be a bluff imo. Unless he's a tard.

Yeah, I always call here too based on the donk factor.

Timer ran down to 1 second, at which point I obviously clicked call! Villain shows J9o, ship the random flop checks... Very strange hand though. I checked the flop because not many cards change the board texture too much and I wanted to induce betting, but I guess I do want to get some moneys in before overcards come to weak PPs. As it turns out this unknown happened to be an uberdonk ([img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Party) but I thought it was an interesting spot because vs a straightforward/sensible player he should always have the ace, really. |
