Funnier/sadder still, is that Sklansky now admits to being paid by Mason for publicly embarrassing himself with these brandi posts for the sake of 2p2.

He has also admitted that the primary reason he starts a thread nowadays is to drum up up "hits" for the site. Personally, I'm a little insulted by this. Here I thought I was taking part in discussions of mutual interest with David. Now I've learned our exchanges have been little more than a ruse to increase 2p2's ad rates. As a result, I've been posting MUCH less lately.

i did not know this.

is this 100% true (that david publicly embarrassed himself for the sake of gaining hits)?

if so: that is weak. i am upset.

out of curiosity, i'd like to know what david's dignity is worth...how many extra hits did this site obtain as a result of his embarassment (i.e. avg hits pre & post event)? and what does advertising revenues work out to on a per X# hit basis?

out with it Mat, Mason, or David!!

i think we should get to know what price the "poker daddy" puts on his honor.

Apparently not much at this point. Can you imagine Doyle, Lederer, Chan, or even Hellmuth turning cartwheels over this nitwit like Sklansky is doing? Pitiful.

Dude, it "sells newspapers". Why do you think Paris being thrown back in the Gray Bar Hilton was the major story on the same day that the Head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff resigned? Its the way of the world. Think ADVERTISEMENT BUCKS . This ain't yo daddy's news paper (forum). THIS CHIT SELLS

James Woods was in town for his girlfriend's 21st birthday.

Thank god I am over 50 and don't need this sorta stuff to get going. Somebody should introduce them to Viagra.

I'm getting tired of all this celeb stuff, too.

One big fact that no one seems to want to look in the face is that fame now is rarely based on anything good or wholesome. If you're looking for that level of fame without ever doing anything "questionable", well... the odds of that happening are pretty low.
If Sklansky wants hits on his website, this is imho the easiest and smartest way to achieve that goal. It may mean selling out some ethics. Is that such a punishable offense in this day and age? It seems like everyone is doing it, openly or not. And are all the poker players on this forum really the highest judges of ethics anyway? I'm sure many of us have done things we are not 100% proud of, but for a larger more selfish reason. That is human nature.

Also, I'm not sure what the point is in berating him for his friendship with Brandi.. Do any of you really think you can convince a smart, confident man to stop being friends with someone based on your opinions? Although I don't know the man myself, I'm relatively certain he will make up his own mind about Brandi, as a reasonable adult who can form his own opinions.
The only thing I could say on their relationship is that I hope he is imparting other wisdom to Brandi besides poker smarts alone. If evidence of Sklansky's guidance manifests itself over the summer, I hope there will be more to see in growth than just cards.
And if anything is tasteless on this website, its the empty responses posted by people with not enough information to make those judgements.
