Lowest EV wager ever?
In light of the most recent round of presidential debates, I took some time to check the current odds on the 2008 election, just out of curiosity. At sportsbook.com I found odds on a very large number of different candidates and potential (very loosely defined) candidates. There were many hilarious lines in the group, but the one I found most interesting was:
George W. Bush: 200-1 Now given his approval ratings, I'm not entirely sure that bet would be +EV even if his current status were "Running for president". When you factor in the minor detail that his actual status is "Not constitutionally allowed to run for president", well, wow. I laughed, and felt the need to share. Other people not eligible to run include Arnold Schwarzenneger, getting 250-1 odds, and Bill Clinton getting 300-1. The person I feel most sorry for though is Dennis Kucinich, also listed at 200-1. How much would it suck to be so disrespected as a candidate that you're considered as unlikely to win as someone ineligible for the job? Almost as bad as the Bodog one that had him being the father of Britney Spears's next baby at like 30-1.
I guess yours is worse, in the "can't happen" sense, but only 30-1?

Lowest EV wager ever was on 6/06/06 whether the world was gonna end. Search this forum for that thread or google it. Not sure which site offered the line but people were betting the yes the world was gonna end at like $1 to win $100,000 or something crazy.
