Default Some Advice Needed!

I would like to start datamining on FTP but can't figure out how to do it. The only HH's that are saved to my folder are my own so I can't figure out how to get my observed hands on to PT. Thanks in advance...

If you open a table at FTP, the observed hands are saved to your hard drive (until you close the table). They are saved in the HandHistory folder, not the folder for your username, so make sure to direct PT to the right folder. Go into the FTP folder while you have a table open to see for yourself.

This has been covered many times before. In the future, please try searching.

Also, please title your posts appropriately.

Probably C:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker\HandHistory

The HH files should be .tmp files.

The temp ones always go one directory level above where you specify yours to be saved, eg if you specified c:\files\poker\hands\me then the temp ones would go in c:\files\poker\hands

oh and you need to import simultaneously as you observe - if you close the table the file is deleted immediately

ok so i tried to upload the files from one directory level above where you recommended arp, but still nothing. i can see the .tmp files appearing when i have the file open and a table open, but when i have PT open, the file that the .tmp files are appearing in selected as the folder, and the table open, still nothing gets imported when i try to. do i have to specifically tell PT the name of the .tmp file? how do i do that. I am sorry this is coming from someone completely computer illiterate. thanks,

G

Open the "Auto-Import Full Tilt Poker Hand Histories" window in PT, then click on the Observed Hands tab and uncheck the box "Do not import observed hand history files at this time."

I'm guessing this is the problem. If it isn't, post again and I'll try to help you figure it out.
