Oliver, what is the nature and history of this so-called feud you speak of?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm assuming Oliver's referring to the WPT anti-trust lawsuit that Duke, Lederer, Raymer, etc. filed.

Yeah, that didn't even occur to me.

I can't find any info on Player's Club, Club Med, or any reference on Club Med's site to a casino or gambling operation on Turks...

The resort is Club Med Turkoise:

Remember that WPT at Turks and Caicos is going head-to-head against the UltimateBet.net/AbsolutePoker.net event at Aruba.

You will have to choose one or the other, as you can't be at both places at the same time.

Let's see who ends up winning this little battle: WPT or UB/AP (read: Annie Duke, Phil Hellmuth, and co.)

--

One thing you will need to be aware of: WPT is going to both Biloxi and Turks and Caicos (not to mention Atlantic City as well) during hurricane season in the Atlantic Ocean. Turks and Caicos is located north of Hispaniola (Haiti and Dominican Republic), which historically has been in the path of many Atlantic Ocean hurricanes.

Aruba, which is 15 miles off the coast of Venezuela, is usually NOT in the path of Atlantic Ocean hurricanes.

lolovert,

I love it when you advise us on which tournaments to play based on potential weather hazards.

I did peruse that website and didn't see any mention of a casino.

Also, I'd choose Turks and Caicos over Aruba, since I've been to Aruba once before and Turks is supposed to be nice, and I like going to new places, and the prizepool will be bigger. But if it conflicts with the Taj USPC I wouldn't go to either.

I long for the day when these tournaments expand to South America. Cheap venues and still lots of fun. I'm shocked the WPT doesn't stop in Central America yet. Costa Rica would be a perfect fit.

They were in Costa Rica in season 1, it was a $500 rebuy tournament that helped introduce the world to Clonie Gowen, who finished 10th.
