check and call river..
this makes the pot cheaper and if a card comes like 10 or 5 and SB bets then you can easily fold....

Turn: ($10) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $8.00

So this is not the smartest move?

What. Why would we ever check this turn, with the intention of making it easier to fold if Villain hits?
If we put villain on a draw, we bet to get money now (because he's not calling if he misses).

Betting $8 is fine.
The only reason we should check is if we think Villain won't call a bet now, but might if it's checked through.
Given your read that Villain is loose and passive, a bet is right almost all the time.

I'd bet again here 7-8$ and it would probably be the last money i put into the pot :/ We have to charge the draws

this doesn't seem like an OPTIMAL time to check because we do care about free cards, however I think pot control with our weak hand is more important - we can't be excited about playing a much bigger pot here. so I check and call a reasonable river bet.

I would bet about $8, and not put any more money into the pot.

ok it seems I misapplied the concept here. Would we check the turn against a better player than SB?
