Help with DVD playback... they look pixely

hey all,

I just reinstalled windows, and Im having some problems getting DVDs to look right. Basically, they looked very pixelated.


I made sure to install up to date video drivers (radeon 8500) and have tried several different DVD playing programs.


Also... just as an aside, Im not sure if this is important but in CP -> display -> settings, I can no longer go beyond 1600*1200 (the size of my monitors), but I know before I resinstalled windows I could go to higher resolutions.
