Re: *s
cit,
the first 2 *'s act as warnings and nothing more, ie the only consequence of getting the * is the * itself. on the 3rd comes ban/exile |

[ QUOTE ] posting IM data is much closer to posting someone's myspace info [/ QUOTE ] Cit, posting IM conversations is done all the time in OOT... are you saying that this shouldn't be allowed? [/ QUOTE ] it's different went both people approve of the convos being posted.. usually the two people are friends. either that or convos are posted where the OP is talking to some anonymous girl.. clearly different no? |

[ QUOTE ] Daryn, Change his title to Sarcastic Bastard *. [/ QUOTE ] i think this is probably a good idea, just want to see what others have to say. i'm looking for a standard, so i don't have 20 people PMing me w/ similar requests all the time [/ QUOTE ] I think this would be a good idea going forward but I feel pretty strongly that we shouldn't reward or cater to the type of behavior that TWP has displayed throughout this. he's been pretty [censored] to daryn and has advocated trolling OOT on a large scale. |

Re: *s
A note:
Failing to read the sticky and getting a * is not "a mistake" it's "being a [censored] poster". If people don't want to lose custom titles, they should read the damn FAQ, that's basic internet stuff from the dawn of time. |

Re: *s
All,
So while I ran out and saw the utterly disappointing "The Departed," we came to a concensus to: 1) Exile TWP from OOT 2) Append *s to people's custom titles? is option 2a) put *s in user notes instead still up for discussion, or should we not press this more? A note, if someone gets their user notes changed it does nothing. If someone gets a * they can like, never go back to their normally accrued user title level changes, right? |

Re: *s
* in user notes misses the point.
BTW- I do think that some of the large image stars have been a little hasty. I'd give somebody like 5-10 minutes to realize their screw up before nuking them. |

But seriously, I wish all you other mods who think you know OOT, would shut the [censored] up.

SO are you saying, that it is OK to post an IM conversation with some 3rd party who might or might not find out that it was posted; while its not ok to post an IM conversation with you, because you have an opportunity to tell the poster that he's a moron for posting it? |

But seriously, I wish all you other mods who think you know OOT, would shut the [censored] up. [/ QUOTE ] Nick, this is the Mod discussion forum... discussion between mods is what this forum is for [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] When you give someone a *, it impacts on that user's experience across 2+2, which gives non-OOT mods more than enough reason to feel the need to comment. |
