Re: Cheating at AP, updated cliff notes
It's out in the mainstream media in Holland. A free newspaper called "De Pers", that you can get at any trainstation (and some other places) presents this as a proven crime, committed by Scott Tom.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, LOL. Indeed, in the mainstream-media in the Netherlands its being presented like hes already convicted. They call him by name. Also, they say the other pokersites may have the same kind of fraud... |

Re: Cheating at AP, updated cliff notes
It would probably be fairly easy to a absolute poker programmer to insert a "hidden" feature in a specially built executable file where you send or in other ways expose the holecards of a given table.
Furthermore if the programmer is of any aptitude he would insert another feature which when activated could hide the tracks of the first feature. For example something as simple as switching back to the original executable file on the server, overwriting the hidden feature exectutable and thus hiding his evidence forever from any investigation. Bottom line, investigation only has a slight chance of success if the programmer screwed up, if the cheaters are anywhere near decent the investigation will come up with Zero results. Of course this still assumes that the cheater has login access directly or indirectly to the gameserver which we know he once had and it is my experience that once you've had access to a server it's usually often you still have access to it, even after quitting your job, unless physical access restricts him from using it. |
