Interesting read.

When did you start out with NL50 and in what timeframe did this evolution take place?

$50NL..you say people will stack off with top and middle pair like thats a bad idea....why is that?

$100NL...you say players are more hesitant to stack off but that you should do it with TPTK

These two statements contradict each other drastically. Maybe you meant top OR middle pair in the $50NL game? That would make sense.

I was doing all sorts of things for a while but really took off this summer, beating 200pl for an extremely good clip. Myself and many others constantly emailed UB asking for mid-stakes HU games, 400nl-1000nl. A few weeks later, these tables were put in. I sort of took a shot at 400nl, had a tough time adjusting, but eventually got the hang of it and never looked back.

Why is good metagame required at higher levels?

From what I understand, metagame in practice means making a non-optimal move for a particular hand in order to make (a) future hand(s) more profitable.

But surely you could beat your opponents without doing that as long as you are mathematically and psychologically superior.

And what is the point of giving away EV to create an image anyway when you can just play "the opposite" of the image you get for free?
