Hand 1, I could find a fold on the turn, but I usually just call and reevaluate. I think this may be a leak (comments please)

hand 2 is a little weak. Bet the turn $5.5 and see what happens. It's more drawy than the first hand, and villain could have picked up on weakness and bet out. As played, it's fine

Yeah depending on the opponent, in hand two the turn check is kind of saying "bluff me and I'll fold right here".
