Funny how you assume it's a "she"

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh, that's right, most women don't work. And of the ones who do, none is smart enough to be a Senior Network Tech.

[/ QUOTE ]

LOL

[/ QUOTE ]

That's grammatically correct. The verb 'is' agrees with its subject 'none.' The plural 'ones' is part of the objective phrase beginning with 'of.'

Yes, I'm a grammar nit.

Wow, is that really true? I would say "none are smart enough to be a Senior Network Tech."--"is" just doesn't sound right to me.

I guess I'm not smart enough to be a Sr. Network Tech either.

on a somewhat related note... what do you guys think about ending your emails with things other then the usual "thanks" or "regards"? Im used to using "peace", but im not sure if they appreciate it at my office (im a software engineer fwiw). What if i tried to compromise with "peace and regards"? [/ QUOTE ]

Kinda stole this from a friend--I use "Cheers." That way, it can apply as a TY or just a "later."

I also pretend to be British and snobby, so it comes in handy.

PHB,

I think that Chair said above that it's a guy in Missouri that sent the original email.

Ahhh, my bad. I need to stop thinking like this. Same goes for when I see a horrible driver and yell "What a dumb lady!"

Sorry if that bothers you, FFK!
