Definition of \"nit\" or specifically a \"nitty game\".
I've heard this term thrown around on the Forum, esp. players referring to a certain site's games as "nitty". Does anyone care to elaborate?
Thanks in advance. |

Re: Definition of \"nit\" or specifically a \"nitty game\".
The meaning moves around a lot.
A nit can be someone who is unusually crabby or a stickler for rules. They're often a regular in the game/room and like to use their local knowledge to gain an edge. Generally someone who is a pain in the ass to play with. Complainers are also sometimes nits. Someone who makes a game bad because of their attitude is a nit. Nits are generally seen to be weak/tight nut peddlers. It's not a nice thing to be called. |

A term used among poker players describing a player who is generally tight with money, and unwilling to involve herself in situations which are not clearly to their advantage.

Thanks...So am I correct in assuming a "nitty game" is one where it is harder to make money because the players play so tight?
