Default Re: Explanation for Epassporte Visa problem

For the record, I made a legit credit card load (Visa; B of A) within the past week. The only hitch came from my bank and a simple phone call corrected it. I think ePassporte is probably just slow, and if they are in any way affiliated with the porn industry as a payment intermediary, they are FLOODED with business. I scoped them out as thoroughly as I could before making my account, and I can't say they seem like an unreliable business. We have yet to hear a single case of them out-and-out defrauding somebody, as far as I can tell, so I am not extremely concerned. People's ID's are out there, now. People's numbers and chit can be found, whether they're ePassporte clients or not. Sad but true.

I have a question for those who have used the service extensively: Am I correct in assuming that there is no limit one may cash out INTO his ePass account, from Stars, say? If I want to cash out 10k from Stars, there is no "daily limit" that can be put into my Epass acct., true? Thx for feedback

FT/UB i think both have limits of like 5k for cashouts to epass.

The bigger issue is when you get larger than 5k into your epassporte account, they'll lock it until you verify it w/ documents of ID (this could take WEEKS).

has anyone used the visa card? does it really work everywhere visa is accepted? i know i've tried using the "virtual visa" online and it was declined, so i'm a bit skeptical.

i'm mostly concerned about whether or not it will work at best buy to purchase a tv

ePassporte is having trouble accepting Visa cards. But they are taking the risk of giving immediate credit to anyone that uses a bank account. This process usually takes weeks to be done. I think they are doing there best to help everyone use there services.

[/ QUOTE ] The visa card does NOT work everywhere Visa is accepted, only where visa electron is accepted. It's mostly useful as an ATM card. The virtual visa doesn't work if someone has to physically punch in the numbers. I used it at amazon and dell without a problem.

Getting the error message itself is super standard. It usually takes me 3-4 tries of getting the error message before a transaction actually goes through. I'm used to that.

The new twist was the money actually leaving the account and epass claiming I was over my daily transaction limit if I tried again. That's a new one on me, but just from reading through the thread and other threads on other forums, seems like it's par for the course for epass on the past couple days. Sounds like they've been having a lot of problems lately.

I actually got a LIVE person on the phone (took 2 tries, late night followed by early morning). According to the service rep, ePassporte has been having "problems with its payment processor" since Saturday (9/22), and she did not know when the problem would be resolved. . .she did get a note made of my missing money and it was back in the account within 24 hours, fwiw.

EDIT: First person who is able to successfully send a withdrawal to their checking account (i.e. no error message), please let us know it's working again.

Apparently, ATM withdrawals are working now (but I don't have a Visa for that yet). Does anyone know if ePassporte withdrawals to U.S. bank accounts are going through again yet?

. . .the last WEEK? This was 4 days ago.

As I said, I have heard that ATM WITHDRAWALS are working, but not DIRECT BANK TRANSFERS from ePassporte to U.S. bank accounts. Direct bank transfers are what I need to know about. And I have read absolutely nothing about them working again in this thread.

How long is a cashout from Stars s'posed to take to hit the ePass account? The original purchase was credited back instantly, but the rest of it has not appeared yet. Is this normal? (I just cashed out enough to buy the ATM card, and I want to get it ASAP so I can manage my money better. I.e. not wait a week for it via check.) Thx again,
