Default 100NL: 88 overpair

Villain is unknown, first two, three orbits at the table, I have no image that I know of. I even tried searching for him to see how many tables he plays but no dice.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

UTG ($114.50)
MP ($107)
Hero ($103)
Button ($89.60)
SB ($200.40)
BB ($103)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $4</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, SB calls $3.50, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>.

Flop: ($9) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $6</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB raises to $20</font>, Hero ???

against no reads, i fold and make a note of this, calling just sets us up for a hard turn decision

Can someone further explain this? I'm coming from sngs and usually you never fold holding an overpair. So i'm a little confused

^^??

true, you might have the best hand at the moment, but shoving folds out weaker hands and possibly a couple stronger hands, but our edge is too thin to shove this imo...

also, calling just bloats the pot and we'll be in a jam on every turn card except the 8...fold and stay out of trouble here

like i said, it's read dependent, and it's still important at 50BB

if you can't search him, hes probaby a regular. and a regular can often c/r this flop with air, figuring you missed and will fold almost everything. i think I would probably peel one and see what he does on the turn.

edit: i thought this was NL200 for a second. without history i would probably fold this now, but i dont think calling occasionally is bad. lots of ppl will c/r this flop with trash and give up if they get called.
