100NL: 88 overpair
Villain is unknown, first two, three orbits at the table, I have no image that I know of. I even tried searching for him to see how many tables he plays but no dice.

Re: 100NL: 88 overpair
against no reads, i fold and make a note of this, calling just sets us up for a hard turn decision

Re: 100NL: 88 overpair
Can someone further explain this? I'm coming from sngs and usually you never fold holding an overpair. So i'm a little confused

Re: 100NL: 88 overpair
^^??
true, you might have the best hand at the moment, but shoving folds out weaker hands and possibly a couple stronger hands, but our edge is too thin to shove this imo... also, calling just bloats the pot and we'll be in a jam on every turn card except the 8...fold and stay out of trouble here |

Re: 100NL: 88 overpair
so what if hero was more shortstacked? let's say 50 BB? same thing?

Re: 100NL: 88 overpair
like i said, it's read dependent, and it's still important at 50BB

Re: 100NL: 88 overpair
if you can't search him, hes probaby a regular. and a regular can often c/r this flop with air, figuring you missed and will fold almost everything. i think I would probably peel one and see what he does on the turn.
edit: i thought this was NL200 for a second. without history i would probably fold this now, but i dont think calling occasionally is bad. lots of ppl will c/r this flop with trash and give up if they get called. |
