Default defending the little blind in a 2 chip, 3 chip structure LHoldem game

Hi

I just read the excellent book, Winning in Tough Holdem Games. On page 99, the authors give a general guideline for defending the big blind from a steal raise with hands such as 43s, 53s, 65o, etc.

On p. 144, assuming an aggressive button raises, they suggest 3 betting from the little blind with, any pocket pair, Jts etc.

My question is that I often play when the little blind is 2/3's the big blind, and it seems to me that I ought to be able to call in the small blind with a range that is looser then I would 3 bet the little blind with but tighter then I would defend the big blind with.

Any suggestions on a range to use to call and 3 bet from the little blind in such a structure? Looking at my own poker tracker data base, I'm getting destroyed in my little blind in this structure of game, So suggestions would be very helpful to me.
