Default Wildfires in Greece could be terrorism

http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe....ap/index.html

I wonder if this is a warmup for hitting the US West. I've always thought that would be such an easy way to wreak a lot of havoc with very little effort. That and a DC-sniper style attack on LA. To me it seems fairly obvious that Al Qaeda is purposely not targeting the US mainland right now. We're so target rich.

I am always surprised by the paranoia.

wildfires would make a pour choice for a terrorist strike because they are common enough that they do NOT strike fear into anyone nor do they result in the type of spectacular damage that blowing things up does.

Yeah but they cost billions in damages and wreak havoc for a while. And that's just the natural and accidentally set ones. Imagine what a coordinated effort could do.

Was this said on purpose? Great pun if so.

But that isn't really too terrifying. A lot of terrorism is about sending a message. We have massive wildfires in the USA all the time, lose 100's of thousands of acres , not really a great statement.
