Default WSOP: Sequestrium

The players in my home game decided to try and send one of us to the an event at the Rio this year. We did this by playing the Sunday tournament each week at the local card room and pooling our winnings. We ended up with about $4900 and decided to toss in the rest and send one guy to the WSOP.

He made the final table of a $5000 event and all drove over to Las Vegas to watch the final table, only to find he was playing inside of that tent and only two of us could get in to watch him play.

I have been wondering ever since why more players didn't object to that damn tent arrangement (other than Matusow). Finally, I found an article about the whole stupid idea on www.pokerblog.com but I wonder why there hasn't been more of an uproar about this?

Am I wrong, is this a good thing for poker?

Its good because it is broadcast on the net with hole cards. Each player can bring 2-3 friends too so maybe you arent that tight with said player.

Yes & No, I don't like the fact a live viewing audience cannot be inside the "tent", but I love the online video and seeing the hole cards.

They need to build an an arena like Mansion Pokerdome so it can be viewed live with an audience, possible even sequester a larger audience so the players could have a "home field" advantage and give off the feel and excitement that fans bring.

Creative minds can solve this in a way where all will benefit, whether they will is another story

The sequestrium is a good thing, but the price they are charging the public to view it is another. They (whoever is making that profit: Bluff, Harrah's etc.) should give the players who make those final tables a kickback or something from that money.

The same with ESPN, they should be giving $$$ to everyone they continue to make "stars" @ their final tables. This would reduce at least some of the complaints there are or would be. Maybe...
