I was concerned with the villain's cold call of my CR on the turn. So I check when the river flush card comes and villain pushed for a little less than the pot size.

I guess I should have let the strength of my hand and the limit at which I was playing dictate my play here? Should I have instead lead out with a 1/2 - 3/4 pot size bet on the river and then call his push?

Hero folds

I think there's a typo in the hand history.

If not, wow. I don't think I could fold that against an unknown given the size of the pot already. Of course, I'm also betting more on the flop ($5 or so) and not trying to get cute on the turn (it's great that he bet for you this time, but I think you lose of ton of value when he simply checks behind).

Flop - pot $6.25 - bet $5
Turn - pot $16.25 - bet $12 - if he raises, easy shove
River - pot $40.25 - since the flush hit, check/calling a reasonable (non-shove) river bet is probably the best play - if the flush doesn't hit, bet about $35 and call a shove.

so in your scenario, you are folding to an unknown if flush hits riv and he shoves?

interesting. seems to makes sense to bet, if you have to call the shove anyways. at least we can get value then when we are ahead. mahatma would push river here, right!?
