Has ESPN ever done a "time buy" show that was sponsored by an online site? Do they have plans to?

[/ QUOTE ]

The FullTiltPoker.net Pro-Am Equalizer was a "time buy" on ESPN that was produced by Poker PROductions using money from FullTiltPoker.net.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wasn't this supposed to be an ABC time buy, before they pulled it and moved it to ESPN?

[/ QUOTE ]

All "sports" time-buys on ABC are handled by ESPN, Inc. because the "ABC Sports" business unit was dismantled several years ago, even before the "ABC Sports" brand was obliterated in favor of the "ESPN on ABC" branding.

Poker PROductions bought time with ESPN, Inc. to place the Pro Am Equalizer on a block of time on a TV channel that was controlled by ESPN, Inc. That channel ultimately turned out to be ESPN.

I picked up a schedule for all events and satellites this past weekend. Looks like they added alot of satellites to try and build the field this year. Mostly 110's and 220's. Seems to be more of them than I remember from last year. At least they have the automatic shufflers this year.

Who's planning on playing in this thing? I live in NJ, I'm definitely in. FWIW, the structure of this tournament is phenomenal. At least it was until my KK ran into AK last year.

I will play in the smaller events probably, mostly the Limit events. The one thing i like about the USPC is the variety of tournaments compared to other casinos.

Example, borgata tournament series usualyl spread 90% NL with 1 limit holdem and 1 stud event. USPC has multiple stud and omaha events.

I will try to sat my way into the larger event.

My only disappointment is the increase in rake in smaller events. IIRC last year the $300 events last year were raked at $40 not $50.

I don't think there are any stud events at all at the Borgata Poker open this year.

Anyone know if Stars will be running Sats to this years USPC as they did last year if they have an EPT event going on?

yes this is correct, smaller events are always raked more but its starting to get more annoying.

last years buyins:
http://www.pokerpages.com/tournament/schedule2330.htm

this years:
http://www.trumptaj.com/index.cfm/nodeID...on/content.page

you can see that rake went up $10 on all $300 and $500 events.

3 years ago it was only $35 on a $300 event, i sound nitty, but i'm just wondering at what point they will stop increasing the rake.
At least at the Borgata summer open they increased the juice as well but made $300 events $350 + $50 instead of $300 + $50 making it a little better than jacking the rake only. /end rant

NO CHANCE. ZERO.

There is no valid reason for any online poker entity to run satellites into untelevised events in which the online poker entity will NOT be able to generate advertising "impressions" on television.
