Default Re: Rake increase in Ladbrokes cash games

The rake increase there increases the rake of other than higher limit players. Things haven't though got worse as they have an in-built rakeback these days. And they will have a 3-D software at one point, though they rate to be harder to play of what I have experienced. I suppose the shuffle system still stays the same (it seems to effect to how the cards come out of the deck, though that's not what "other" people think).

Many other sites have also broken against the basic rule and taken over 5% at some point, and usually it increases the rake over the usual straight 5% rake - that's too high at low and up to medium limit limit games (e.g. at 2-4 limit games when the rake is not taken before $20, as it used to be and is still at some places, compared to when the rake is taken by e.g. 1c units, it's about a double rake, meaning even the better players make no money), but as nl happened they started to change the rake at many places at limit games too, not understanding how much it really has an effect; it ruined most limit games all over the world and was one reason why limit holdem popularity dropped dramatically; these days it's possible to play them only because of the rakebacks and bonuses, though there are some lower rake places but they a populated by better players and there's nothing less interesting than playing low limits with marginal edges.

Ladbrokes has no limit games going, though maybe not because of the rake (haven't been looking as they have no games for me and they haven't put up any deals to get action into those games).

It's really something unbelievable what they did at Ladbrokes (someone got a great idea to sneak in an increase to the rake), but it figures to more or less pay the costs of their rakeback system - that benefits the high limit and high volume players.

The best way to increase the rake is to cheat, so they get a bit more money and then they can use that to rakebacks and bonuses and so have more traffic. It's just stupid to take more rake like Ladbrokes did with today's technology, especially as no-one has even been proven of cheating like that, even when it has been absolutely clear.
