I can help you if you state what chips you have available, what the buyin and rebuy cost and how long you want the tourney to last.

ok.
i got
300 x 1$ Chips
300 X 5$ Chips
200 x 10$ Chips
100 X 25$ Chips
100 x 100$ Chips

we will be about 12-15 players
the buyins will be 20$ with unlimited rebuys for 20$ each for a certain period (not sure how long that period should last).

the tourney should last 3-4 hours max. 5 hours.

How about 1200 in starting chips with re-buys for the first hour. Blinds starting at 10/20 and going up every 15 minutes (20/40, 30/60, 50/100, 60/120, 70/140, 80/160, 100/200, 150/300, 200/400, etc). Payout top 4 players (50%-25%-15%-10%)... That's my suggestion, have fun!

Here is my idea:

100 chips per $20 (maximum 200 chips to start), starting blinds 1/2. Chip distribution:

$1 - 10
$5 - 10
$10 - 4
$25 - 4 (this is for the second buyin)

Blinds:

1/2
2/4
3/6
4/8
5 minute break (chip up the $1 chips and end rebuy period)
5/10
10/20
15/30
20/40
5 minute break (chip up the $5 chips)
30/60
50/100
100/200
150/300
5 minute break (chip up the $10 chips)
200/400
400/800

Notes:

1. It is hard to determine how many chips will be in play and thus how long this will last. My suggestion is that you don't have enough chips for unlimited rebuys. If everyone does two buyins to start, you will have 3000 chips in play (15 players). If you allow something like 3 rebuys each that could add another 4500 chips into play.

2. If you have 20 minute levels, the third break is 12X20+5+5 which is 250 minutes. I would think this would be around the max time. If you feel you are going long you could eliminate the 150/300 level. My guess is that it will end at the 200/400 level or the 400/800 level (unlikely but possible) and it could very well be over by the third break.

3. You will need to bring the $100 chips into play and this will likely occur when you chip up the $10s and maybe even the $5s.

4. Keep in mind that when you give out rebuys, you will run out of $1 and $5 chips so you will need to hand out 4 $25 chips and get the players to make change at the table.

Any questions?

Just one more note. If you can get away from using the $10, you should try as these are an awkard amount. You really have limited amount of green chips so it may be impossible with 15 players. But anyways, see if you can do it. You may have to add in the $100 chips sooner (like for the last rebuys at the end of the first hour) but there should be lots of change on the tables.

Let us know how it goes.

Final edit: For you or whomever else it may concern, chip denominations are a problem when you are running bigger tourneys. It can even be a problem for 500 chips and a ten man tourney.

You should plan out what blinds you want and how many chips of each to give to each player and then order a chip set.

Also note that some denominations are fairly useless with the most common being the 10 chip and the 50 chip. Usually you want chips to be either 4 or 5 mutliples of each other and sometimes 2.

So a common string could look like this: 1, 5, 25, 100, 500, 1000, 5000. You can see here that 10 and 50 just don't help anything.

Go to the homepokertourney site. They have a few tools there that can figure schip ditribution and they have examples of blind schedules.

I go with a T500. Chip distribution would be:
10x$5
6x25
3x$100

Blind Structure:
5/10
10/20
20/40
30/60
40/80
50/100
75/150
100/200
150/300
200/400
300/600
400/800

I believe there is a rule of thumb that the tourney ends about when the blinds are 10% of the total in chips, so if there are 12 players, when the blinds get to 600. I could be wrong, but Homepoker will tell you. You can kind of time when it will end by adjusting the time on your blinds.
Good luck and if you want to add a little fun, go buy something poker related and give it as the donk gift for the first one out. I bought up a bunch of these plug N play WSOP games at Ross for like $3. The losers like 'em and we can razz 'em about working on their game.

I forgot to mention the other day that the pokerroom website has a program you can download free that helps you set up home game structure, and even has a timer for the blinds and some other features. Pretty helpful tool for anyone having a home game really.
