katy, all the auditioning and first major cuts were done in one show. that's the one i'm talking about. the second show was only the final cut where they had to go up the elevator to that room.

LOL.....Katy, I've got to truly laugh out loud at your post!!

Here's what happened....After I made the above post, upstairs I go (my man-cave is downstairs) and lo & behold, what do you think is on the TV, with my wife & daughter watching?

I made one of my typical elitist, acerbic comments about American Idle (intentional mis-spell) and precipitated a mini-riot.

O well.....back to my man cave and MSNBC with my tail between my legs.

And yes, I did watch ten minutes or so of it while I ate a couple of brownies!

Hm, you may be right. I have a foggy mind right now

I thought they did solos one week and then group auditions in Hollywood but I guess that was all the same week?

Did you watch tonight? Who did you like?

God, why did Alan do that to Jerry?

...kind of reminds me about the old joke about the snake & the farmer.

Are you familiar with it?

katy, yes they jammed solos and group auditions all into one show. while it seemed too short, i hope that they continue the trend. they drag that show on way too much.

haven't watched tonight's episode, yet. will let you know my thoughts later.

OK.....Here it is.

On a cold winters day, a farmer happened to find a snake outside in the snow that was apparently freezing to death.

The farmer, being a kindly gent, took the snake home and placed him on a blanket in front of his fireplace.

Within a few minutes, the snake revived, and promptly bit the farmer.

As the farmer recoiled in shock & horror, he asked the snake "How could you do such a thing after I just saved your life"?

The snake replied in a matter of fact manner.....

"What did you expect? I'm a snake.....it's in my nature".

I'm constantly amazed at the amount of time that everybody else has for TV. I'm jealous, in a way. You guys, my neighbors, my coworkers, and even my wife are always talking about these shows I've never seen and probably never will. I only watch the office and scrubs. These two shows are great, and I'm sure there's more good stuff out there, but honestly who has the time for all this TV?
