Default NL100 - C/fing JJ on river

Villain is 22/6/4.00 over about a 100 hands. I have not been involved in any relevant pots with him. My image may appear slightly LAG.

I think I should have bet more on turn, ~2/3 pot. Other than that, how is the river lay down?

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.50/$1
8 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
Hero: $90.45
UTG+1: $151.30
MP1: $100.50
MP2: $33.95
CO: $21.60
Button: $110.85
SB: $93
BB: $214.15

Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is UTG with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Hero raises to $4, UTG+1 calls, 4 folds, SB calls, BB folds.

Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($13, 3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $11, UTG+1 calls, SB calls.

Turn: 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($46, 3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $25, UTG+1 calls, SB folds.

River: Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($96, 2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets $52, Hero folds.
Uncalled bets: $52 returned to UTG+1.

Results:
Final pot: $96

What are you putting him on that beats you? Do you play any differently on a blank river (3d)? I would call here.

Flop bet is good because there are two players, if one I probably check.

Turn I check and re-evaluate.

This may be weak-tight thinking...

his flop and turn call show a lot of strength since he isn't closing the action. He also coldcalled my UTG raise next to act. I think 99, 77, or a passively played QQ are part of range given the action up to the river.

Given the river queen and my play thus far, I think villain would check through smaller PPs than mine and take a free SD. Betting the river with something like 55/66 is pretty pointless. Also, the board is pretty dry on the flop/turn so a draw is unlikely, which pushed me to check/folding instead of check/calling the river..

I think 99 is the most probable, then 77 then QQ.

You are beat here the majority of time, good fold.

Nit. Though I agree checking the turn is best here looking back.

I agree that the SBs flop overcall is scary, and I like speedlimits line of checking the turn and re-evaluating a lot better. That way, I can cheaply/easily lay down if UTG+1 bets and the SB wakes up.

At the time, I guess I was just afraid of giving a free card to something like JT.

You are check/calling a turn bet if UTG+1 bets and SB folds, right?
