help me make a purchase

alright, ive been informed that for Christmas i'll be gettin a check to go buy a PS3 and a game or 2. Here's my decision, how do i know which system is best for me?

Basically i will play sports games, i love the baseball games (MVP 2005 is the best baseball game ever made IMO for PS2) so i'll be gettin a baseball game and the college football games and maybe an NBA game and possibly Fight Night
I love shooter games like the Halo franchise and i can see me playin it as well as the Call of Duty franchise. Another thing is that i love the GTA series but not sure if it will be available for the 360 when its made. Thats basically what i like, so should i get the 360 and get more games or should i wait and get the PS3 and continue my streak of owning the sony systems?

If you have alot of PS1/PS2 games you would still play go with PS3. In the end you wont go wrong with either. I played my Xbox and PS2 about the same. From what your saying it sounds like PS3 might be a tad better, but its really a toss up.

Just to clarify: GTA4 will be coming on both the X360 and the PS3, launching on both systems at the same time (Oct. 27th, 2007).

Hope I don't get flamed...
Theoretically, the limitations to the greatness of an individual game playing experience will be limited by the hardware of the system. This edge is huge for the PS3 against the WII.

i think i will only get Wii when they put out a new MarioKart

the news on GTA 4 has me leaning towards the 360, but ive been so loyal to playstation that i'll feel like im cheating

If you have to buy now, Xbox 360's library is by far the deepest, and they're the ones with online multiplayer. They're the ones with their ducks in a row currently, Nintendo and Sony are playing catchup.

If I had to rent one system for the next 6 months, it'd be Xbox 360, not close at all. And considering future implications, every system has the same 3rd party sports game, GTA, and CoD 3. So, Halo is the only game to worry about, and pick that.

Yeah, Xbox 360, not close. Or you could buy some awesome Ps2 games (like guitar hero 2 or FFXII).

You are absolutely getting ripped off if you buy a PS3 before Christmas. Same (though probably to a lesser extent, mostly because of twilight princess) with a Wii.
