Halo 3: lost all progress in solo campaign

Anyone else have this problem? I was fairly deep into the campaign, saved, turned off my xbox, came back the next day, turned it back on... and I'm at the start of the first [censored] mission. Anyone else have this? Anyway I can fix it (I know there's not). Cheat codes for different missions maybe?

how is the save system dumb, isn't it the same as 1 and 2?

from what i hear the entire solo campaign is done in half an hour anyway so just play through it in one shot.

It took me about 8 hours on heroic with no skulls on just plowing through not looking for any of the extras.

Lost my campaign 2 times already. Good to know I dont have to blame anyone in my house though.

It was dumb back then too.
