Default quick workout question

in a typical workout, how many calories should you typically burn?

that's kind of a useless question; "Calories burned during exercise is affected by body weight, intensity of workout, conditioning level and metabolism." - Nutristrategy.com

the better thing to focus on is how often are you getting exercise, and for how long? Cardiovascular wise, it is best to go for 40 minutes and to get your heart rate up to about 80% of your max (to figure the max, take 220 minus your age so if you're 20, your max is 200 and you should get your heart rate up to 160.)

42.

A lot of calories are actually burned after you have finished with your workout.

Yeah, and it's going to differ GREATLY depending on how much you weigh. If I jump on the treadmill and punch in my stats and run for 40 minutes, it would say that I burned a ton more calories if I put in that I weighed 200 lbs instead of 150 lbs. Focus more on your heart rate.
