Re: Did I screw up this river?
[ QUOTE ]
Blue, do you think I missed a check raise on 6th? [/ QUOTE ] No sir, the way the action has played out so far, I think he'd be hesitant to bet on 6th unless he had a made flush or two pair, and in both scenarios we're behind with the possibility of getting 3-bet. Betting out on 6th is best. |

Re: Did I screw up this river?
[ QUOTE ]
Given the 3rd street action, a made flush seems pretty unlikely. [/ QUOTE ] I agree...it is pretty unlikely, but still a possibility. I see players raising three-flushes all the time on 3rd street, especially if they are either all high cards or connected for a straight/flush combo draw. I can readily see the villain in this case raising something like (5c6c)4c and then playing the rest of the hand as described. [ QUOTE ] It seems like you are advocating checking and folding? [/ QUOTE ] I'm not "advocating" that. I think what you do on 6th street in this situation is very much dependent on your reading of the opponent. What I am advocating is another option besides betting-out to gain information and reduce the amount of ambiguity. I really hate putting more money into the pot on 6th street in highly ambiguous situations like this. (FWIW, absent any other info on villain, I probably would have checked 6th and called if he bet.) The more I look at this hand, the more I wonder if the villain isn't rolled-up with 4s at the start. I hope BeerMoney posts the outcome. |

Re: Did I screw up this river?
Seat 4 had already folded before the action got back to Beer on third street.
I agree with the panel that Beer played the hand well overall, and that the river should either go check/call or bet/fold, with the former being preferable against an unknown online player. |
