Powell's.

Other than that I went to some new Peruvian fusion type place, can't remember name, but food was awesome and had live jazz.

Probably Andina. Good food, annoying owners that make you super uncomfortable at the table.

I never miss a chance to waste a couple hours playing classic video games at Ground Control. It is at 6th (?) and Cooch nowadays.

J,

Have you ever been to a strip club in Portland? I haven't been in a bunch of years, but when I went last (prob about 5 years ago), they were great. They were basically just like neighborhood bars where from time to time the girls hanging out at the bar drinking would go to a pole in the corner and strip. There was one cool place (a bigger joint) where they'd sometimes have bands playing on one stage with girls stripping on the other. Most of the girls weren't very "stripper-looking" but there were lots of cute punkish/rocker chicks.

Mission theater and pub - the best thing ever.

Portland City Grill at the top of the big pink building. Some pretty tasty food and an awesome view of the city.

Powell's.

Poker is not recommended.

Saturday Market.

Sounds like Mary's.

Also, driving over to beacon rock and hiking up it is definitely worth it for the view if you have an afternoon to spend.

try to catch a flick at the laurelhurst theater.
http://www.laurelhursttheater.com/home.html

It is one of many theaters that let you eat pizza and drink beer in the theater, but I liked the flavor of laurelhurst the best, plus they show a lot of midnight cult films, or at least they used to.

If you're a chess fiend there are some good hangouts on 23rd street (in NW), or just the chess board in pioneer square.

and I also enjoyed eating at the acropolis

hawthorne neighborhood (in SE) is good for a taste of hippy.

there is also some great indian food north of pioneer square. a couple of blocks north of the library, on the right side...it's a cart that sells vegetarian only stuff. Get the special. cheap and enough food for lunch *and* dinner.

If you like jogging just run right along the river, it's gorgeous. Have fun.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the voodoo donut. They have an amazing, and somewhat bizarre, selection. I can't remember the hours exactly, something like 10 PM - 8 AM. Definitely a good place to go after a night of drinking.
