Default Sussing someone out

I need some information on someone when all I have is:

First and Last Name

email address (yahoo)

Possibly served in the military (spy planes apparently, dont know if this is true)

Lives in the States

Also, he says that he has served in the military. Is there any way to prove this? Should I ask him for some sort of Military ID number?

Excuse my ignorance, i'm not from the States.

All i've tried is google and yahoo which have come up with very little. Is there anything else I can try?

Call the Pentagon, say you're a potential employer doing a background check, ask for his time in the service and whether he was honorably discharged.

A (deluded) friend of mine thinks she's found the love of her life on the internet.

I know only this much about the guy and want to find out some more.

Translation:

I love this chick, but she loves some other dude she met over the internets...I'm hoping to find some dirt on him (hopefully he's a sex offender!), so she will drop the hero and get with this zero.

There are sites that break people down with frightening accuracy according to where they live. Income, likely occupation, age, types of consumer spending and debt, etc., further categorized as to race, etc. I remember being perturbed to see tremendously detailed guesses as to who I must be according to my neighborhood's demographic, many of which were not accurate, except for one, which was basically that any white guy who lived in my neighborhood was probably a total loser.
