Default 2 thin preflop iso plays

1. Live 15/30 game in LA. I'm UTG+1 with K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG is a weak spot in the game. His range seems to be all offsuit Aces up to AT, all suited aces up to AT, K9o+, K9s+, 22-99, QT, JT...
I've also been chatting it up with him, so he is very unlikely to bluff me or peel lightly.

UTG limps, I raise?

2. Same game. This time old asian man limps UTG, I have 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ...I raise?

This villain is basically playing his cards face up, he also has a tendency not to peel flops like some of the other loose/horrible live players do.

What do you think?

Don't like either. Your thought process is good, but you're in too early position. I don't mind limps in either spot, but raising puts you in too tough a spot if you run into a real hand behind you with eight players left to act. It's a fine play if his limp came from MP or later.

In hand 1 you're not really isolating him as much as your potentially isolating yourself. Limp along...

Hnad 2, positions would help but this looks good.

Ack, I thought you wrote you were UTG + 2 again in hand #2. If you're in MP2 or later, I like it.

When you think about isolating, remember that you're not just playing against this guy, you're playing against the rest of the table as well. The resaons that we don't raise when its folded to us in these position is the same reason why I think you shouldn't be raising when fishy UTG limps. Limp along w/those hands.

If you were in CO then it would be different story

Hand 1: I think it depends more on who is behind you than what UTG did.

Hand 2: Same here but I like this less.

Both hands you are out of position. I think aside from folding I would NOT limp, which is weak, but how about re-reaising and investing a small amount before the flop. You can eliminate or at least narrow the table down to you and the UTG and avoid being out drawn by anyone else. See the flop and go from there. If in the first hand you flop a pair of K's or a flush draw you are still in good shape. If he checks or bets to you push your hand!! Remember he has no clue what you have. I would worry about AK, AQ,AJ which he most likely has... more than KK. There are only 3 case cards that would hurt you. as far as the second hand 66 is pretty weak. There's a lot of cards that could ruin you and you really only have 2 case 6's that would improve your hand. I would either see a cheap flop by limping or checking, but if someone else raises let them go, but then again you can always raise. [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Um, UTG just limped in both hands...reraising would be quite a trick.

Wait a second, are you saying to limp with 66 but then fold if it gets raised behind you? That's pretty funny.
