buying a used bike help me please
So I was thinking about getting a used mountain bike to tool around on and I found these two prospects on craigslist.
bike 1 bike 2 Does anybody know anything about bikes? Are these decent for casual use? Are they reasonably priced? ANy input advice apprciated including better ways than craigslist to find used bikes in my area. Thanks Jim |

wow, bike 1 is a HUUUUUUGE ripoff.
I wouldn't pay $300 for bike number 2 bike 1 Id give $50 for. Bike 2 maaaybe $125 (not sure what components are on it). Thats assuming they are in good riding condition, which cant be told from those pictures |

Bike 1: 20$
bike 2: eh, 50$. Edit: Bike 1 might be worth more because it has that trip computer. But you don't really need that. I would look at garage sales if you just want to tool around. |

Old used bikes don't retain value unless the components are all brand new or they're barely used and in amazing condition. Basically a non-premium bike like these that's 5+ years old should be nearly free.
(premium/collectors bikes do retain value but these aint that) |
