This is, generally speaking, a terrible way to play poker, cooperative cards or not. Playing scared will lose you way more bets in the long run than spewing a few c-bets around.

Nobody says that you have to work your way up from .01/.02. Unless you are very discliplined and can avoid the "it's only .02, I'll call," you may be better off playing at a stake that has more relevance to you. Maybe you are much more disciplined than most, but if you can afford to throw 500bb for 2/4 in to start, it would be hard for most people in that situation to take .01/.02 seriously.
