Default who plays a lag style?

If so how has this worked for you. Daniel Negreanu told me that he plays like 95% of his hands and usually comes in with a preflop raise. I've also heard that Ivey has a similar approach.

Are you sure they weren't talking about when they donk around at low limits?

I'm pretty sure they were. The post he is refering to is over at FCP, in which DN was talking about play at a 2-4 table. It is unclear, to me at least, whether or not he was refering to limit or PL play.

No matter how good the game is, I seriously doubt playing 95% of your hands can be a long-term winning strategy above penny stakes.

A direct quote from Daniel:

"Well, Ivey kind of taught me how to play that game a while back and I would say I play about the same number of hands.

Online, playing $2-$4 I've routinely played 95% of the hands, raising most, and am way, way, ahead of the game."

I experimented a few years ago with playing 100% of my hands with a few caveats, such as I didn't have to call a preflop raise if it was more than 5% of our effective stacks.

In the short sample I played, I managed to eke out a small profit. When I made the same experiment at NLHE I got murdered.

Over how many hands did the experiment last? Just out of curiousity...

[/ QUOTE ]I can't imagine this working in NLHE. Dominating hands are far less common in PLO as they are in NLHE.

I've logged about 1k hands in the last week or so and i've had close to a 50% VIP and have been at about 30bb/100...I know it's a VERY small sample size, but its worked at the low levels.

Maybe people just love to give Daniel money there. I don't see how anyone can profit from playing 95% of their hands. I'm sure he's talking about pot limit omaha, because I specifically asked him about pot limit omaha and he mentioned that Ivey taught him the game.
