Recommend a digital camera to me - Last minute gift

I have almost finished my shopping, but I am home for the holidays and my mother sent me to the drugstore to have film developed for her (WTF they still do that?)

I am going to get her a digital camera so she can email pictures and what not. It needs to be cheap <300 and easy for a 60 year old semi computer literate person to use.

I'm near a Best Buy and Circuit City so that's where I would hope to shop and avoid the mall crowds.

Drop some knowledge on me.

circuit city, canon a630, ~$260

or

circuit city, canon sd600, ~$230

...you should be able to find a 2gb sd card for about 40 bucks. they are on sale everywhere.

can't go wrong with either.

I second Canon, as I feel they're the best point and shoot digital out there.

Agreed, i got the 400 last year for my gf(was poor couldnt upgrade to the 500) and this year im gettin the 600 cuz the other one broke, but its a great camera overall, and yeah 2gb card should be good, cannon > all others right now by far
