UTG folds, MP1 calls, MP3 raises to $1.5, CO folds, Button folds, Hero raises to $5.25, BB folds, MP1 folds, MP3 raises to $9, Hero calls. Flop: ($18.05) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players). Hero checks, Villain bets $10, Hero folds. Was this horrible play on both streets? No reads on villain. |

Push preflop. If they have A-A, oh well.

Re: NL50 KK horrible laydown?
This is disgusting.
Reraise preflop is fine, but calling is also fine. Also, Bet Flop. As played, get all the money in. |

[/ QUOTE ] no, you'll get QQ, JJ, AK, AQ, 22-TT, sometimes suited aces enough at 50NL.. sure your up against AA sometimes, not nearly often enough not to push KK pf though. playing 50NL yesterday i had KK on the button. UTG+1 and CO limp, i make a standard raise, UTG+1 goes all in, CO pushes over the top of him, i call.. UTG+1 shows JJ, CO has QQ, and my kings hold up! and today i 3bet my kings pf, then he 4bets AI, i call... he shows 66. obviously hit a 6 on the flop though.. oh well! |

Re: NL50 KK horrible laydown?
This hand is more interesting than the other posts here give credit for. Most villian's 4bet with a pretty tight range, but without reads we can't really know what that is. Without reads, I'd just go ahead and push preflop, because you don't really know exactly what he does this with, but KK is still probably ahead of his range.
The flop leaves us in a nasty spot. After you just called preflop, I'd probably lead here for around $12 and probably fold to a push unless I thought villian was terrible. As you played it, I think a fold is probably the best option here, as I don't think you are beating a ton on the flop and you probably won't get any more money from the worse hand (JJ or AK) that villian maybe has here. |
