This screams of strength. What kind of read did you have on villain? People defend their blind with the weirdest things.

Calling the minraise on the turn could be ok, but I don't see what you beat on the river. I would fold there...

villain is pretty aggro and also defends blinds pretty consitantly, but the turn check is what screamt weakness to me. H ehad mostly played hands fast. And also the minraise was uncharactaristic of him to.I was sure if he turned a house he would check then raise to atleast 18.
still not sure tho more thoughts I guess

This is pretty similar to the old check/call flop, check/raise turn "I have a monster" line that a lot of donkeys like to take.

I might call the turn if he could do this with an bare ace, but the river is usually not a bluff. If you haven't seen him make big bluffs like this before you should fold river.

His flop lead into 3 other people is pretty strong and I'd expect him to do this with any 8 and also a lot of mid pairs.

I'm checking this turn like always, fwiw. You aren't gonna get value from much that you beat once the board looks like this so be content to play a small pot here, imo.

Extra crispy...toss your hand and take note of the villain's patterns for the hand.

I'm folding river very fast .No way you are ahead.
For me the interesting part is the FLOP.
I think I'm raising this to 7 and fold to a shove. He could donklead with a random 8 but also some other pairs

good comments
result i tanked river a mucked but he shows JJ

this streams from his turn min check raise which i rewally thought was him showing weakness by tryn to show strength.
Figured if he had lead with and 8 he would just cold call turn bet or atleast raise it substantially.

IDK anyway didnt lose muhc, learned lotts from comments
not total loss

ty all

I raise this flop most the time. As played I think you have to fold river, sure you might have the best hand (as you did in this spot) but if villian's going to push rivers like that with a hand you beat you'll stack him off soon enough.

Shove/fold turn I think because he can think any pair of his is the nuts, once you call though I don't think you can call the river.
