it has been available at ft for a long time. the biggest games i've seen, though, were at the 50/100 (10k max) buy-in level. the 5k level gets played somewhat more frequently, but it's almost all hu/sh.
the largest regular 6max or fr game is at the 1k level. i look forward to a regular 2k game like they had at party. sadly, i'm afraid that it may not happen since part of the appeal of the 2k game at party was that it was the biggest game and was a natural place to gamble and/or try to win back recent losses (all +ev for regulars).
at some point i can see the poker ecology supporting and sustaining a regular 5k game (6max or fr), but that will require the expansion of the player base, a bit more promotion of plo8 (e.g., more ftops, more wsop, etc.), and interest from the ft pros and/or high stakes players of other games (typically donators). i'd guess this is at least 2-5 years away, but you never no with the poker world. certainly u.s. legislation could shorten or extend this time line.
