Default Was that Anthony Curtis I saw?

I was watching the 2005 WSOP day 2 (or day 1 part 2?) anyway it was the one with Daniel Negraneu and Sam Farha.

I saw the hand that Sam Farhe called and open raise to t1000 with 33 and hit a set to bust AA. Was that Anthony Curtis that had that AA hand...I just heard the hand as I was doing something else, then looked at the screen and saw who I think was Blackjack pro Anthony Curtis

Question 1: was that Anthony Curtis?
Question 2: Does Sam Farha know who he is?
Question 3: If Sam farha knew who he was, do you think he would have called with 33.....would you call with 33....I'm not sure if Anthony Curtis is as good at Poker as he is at Blackjack, but I would definitely think twice about calling his gross overbet with 33...Him being a math guy (I assume), wouldn't you think he has a monster here?

Daniel Negraneu also said "really" after noticing the raise so I don't think that even he, knew who he was..if it was him...do any of you know who he is?

If Farha wasn't sure the guy had AA he would have folded. Literally the only reason he called was because he knew if he hit a set with his 33 he could bust the guy.

What was the raise again? 50BB in level 1 or something like that?

I don't how many chips he had left, so it's a possibility, but i can't imagine calling here for set value....and I don't know that farha could put him on AA since I don't even know if he knows who he is

It was level 1/2, so the stacks were in and around

Farha - 20K (from stacking oliver hudson)
Curtis - 10K

If he's raising that much, and he's an unknown(at least in poker), its a fairly safe bet to put him on either AA or KK.

just cos he's good at blackjack doesn't mean he's any good at poker. i read somewhere he was pretty much a beginner when he played the WSOP. i guess that if he had done well it would have been used to promote Kill Phil.

I wouldn't assume that he's good at poker, but most of these blackjack guys are very math oriented, and I'd bet that his overbet was not just on a whim as it seemed to be taken in during the game.

Then you must be bad at poker. What hands would you raise with in Level 1 of the WSOP to 20x the BB? AA and mayyyyybe KK. SO, Farha just double up on the 1st hand, so he has 20000, it's 1,000 to call with implied odds of 9,000 more. Easy call.
