Re: Sometimes I gamble and give a free card... 5/10 6-max
This line is very player dependent. Against a passive, this line is great. If he has something like JT or TT, he'll very often call suspecting you are bluffing.
However, this can be very risky against an aggressive player. A strong player might might raise with anything and cause you to fold the best hand. A c/c would be better against this type of opponent. Also, if villian bluffs a decent amount, it would be best to c/c hoping to catch a missed flush bluffing at the pot. |

To bet or check the turn? You can't say either one is a better option, it depends on how you've been playing recently. Even in a vacuum you shouldn't have a set line for this, you should bet X% and check Y% and the frequencies for this are determined by other stuff.

[ QUOTE ]
This is standard 2+2 but against smart opponents this line sucks because they know you have TP/overcards here like 90% of the time and they will shove with anything. [/ QUOTE ] Really? This easily can be a missed CR AI from villians perspective . |

If we think villian is on a flush draw don't we bet the turn? How quickly did he call the flop bet?

As played, c/c the river. I think the most likely hand to call your river bet as played is a bad player with 10 10 putting you on AK diamonds. I think most opponents would bet the turn with that hand, JJ, and KQ. The way villain played, he could easily be on a flush draw. You gain the most by check/calling this river when he bluffs and lose the least when villain has you beat. FWIW, I would bet the turn about 370 here.

[ QUOTE ] I don't think minraises preflop are that stupid [/ QUOTE ] what do they accomplish that couldn't be done a better way? [/ QUOTE ] Why they are better than calling: 1. they give you a chance to steal. 2. they set you up as the aggressor. 3. often they prevent somebody else from raising. Why they are better than a bigger raise (in some circumstances): 1. They keep the pot much smaller than a 4xBB+ would. Additional: 1. Many players don't ever see min raises and don't know how to deal with them. 2. Increases your pfr in the lowest risk way. Many players just use this statistic to determine their preflop strategy versus you 3. Gives you one more way to manipulate your opponents by allowing you another move. |

I liked how you played the hand vs an uknown. Sometimes I just call preflop in this spot though before getting some reads.
