One problem, I have heard that the Foxwoods poker room manager is going to head the Venetian room. As anybody that's been to FW's knows, it's not a very well run room.

Cathy? In the one year, and two different shifts I've worked there, I've never seen her. Ever.

I knew she was resigning, but I didn't know she was going to the Wynn

Anyone try emailing the address on the web site and asking about poker rates? Think they'd be similar to the Bellagio or Wynn rates?

All you can do is offer these limits you can't drag people in to play them if they don't come they don't come
you start offering them the world and you don't make any money from it what good is it most of the time those players are more difficult

From what I hear, the Wynn has managed to get a fair amount of high limit action, plus semi-regular mixed games, omaha, and so forth... so it seemingly can be done.

They cannot be making a single dollar from those games. They take a drop every hour on 30/60, and every 90 minutes on 60/120. With the free food, it cannot be pretty how much they lose on those games. Eventually, they will have to take regular drop and regulate food, and then the game will eventually disappear.

If Venetian takes a long-term approach to the business, like Caesars is, they have a chance to compete.

There was a rumor afoot last night that several Venetian poker room floor people have already quit because they just got told they would not be allowed to accept tokes. On the other hand, a couple dealers with jobs lined up at the Venetian claimed that rumor was incorrect. Interesting bit of intrigue whether or not true.

I took a peak at the room today but I couldn't see much. The tables weren't in the room yet. All I could really see were the walls and there wasn't much to look at. Basically, it was a big empty room.

One good thing about the room is that it will be at the front of the casino. As you come in the main entrance, it's on your immediate left. The position of the room is similar to that in the MGM Grand.

Does this mean I'll need an oxygen tank after walking to the poker room from the parking lot like I do at MGM Grand?
