Re: NL25 - AK paired vs shove
Ok im not very experimented but my theory is
UTG had 2x the max limit so he is probably better than average Raise UTG and called your reraise also so I suspect something good. He called your raise on flop while leading and the turn AI bet is I think he know you got something good but he is confident in his bet so he have someting good. I think he suspect you to maybe also be on an flush draw - Any opinion on what I sais ? Thanks |

Re: NL25 - AK paired vs shove
Without reads I don't really want to play for 200BB with just TPTK. I think I'd just call the flop bet and call down to a showdown. That is a bit passive but with such deep stacks you need to be a bit cautious against an unknown.
If we had just 100BB or I had a read that villain was wild then I'm playing for stacks. Here though I'm not committing with TPTK and as played would fold to the shove. |

Re: NL25 - AK paired vs shove
most of the villains stats were mined and we had only played about 30 at the same table before the shove.
he was: 31.5/20.9/2.23 in about 200 hands. |

Re: NL25 - AK paired vs shove
I think your bet sizing is a little small. I make it like 3-3.1 preflop. This could very well be aces he sees that it is heads up and knows that you might not be putting in too much more if he raises again. I have made that move before, then again it might just be ace king. Your so deep I think folding is the answer.

Re: NL25 - AK paired vs shove
as played, I fold here since I think you are behind too to justify this kind of call. It's 2x the pot

Re: NL25 - AK paired vs shove
thanks for the replies. i ended up folding. i don't like going broke with just top pair. my guess is he had KK or AA.

Re: NL25 - AK paired vs shove
If you're not going broke with one pair don't reraise preflop. Top pair with AK is usually all you're going to get when you hit the flop, so no need in building a big preflop pot with it.

Re: NL25 - AK paired vs shove
he's possibly on a set,
he raises, calls preflop mindonks on flop(he knows you are on a big hand and want you to raise)and the turns gets too dangerous and since he's oop he needs to get the money in now that way the AI lead. Thats how I interpret his action, but without reads its difficult to say. For me it's a clear fold in this situation, as others before mentioned you are too deep to risk your TPTK without a good read. |
