Tilt 6-max $109, Another Basic PF spot vs. Rizen
Exactly 1 orbit after my last hand and I folded the A4cc. This is the 3rd consecutive time he raised on button.
Full Tilt Poker Game #3069552249: $30,000 Guarantee (22248209), Table 20 - 120/240 Ante 25 - No Limit Hold'em - 1:18:53 ET - 2007/07/27 imweidhorn has returned Seat 1: harryplug (6,684) Seat 2: yoren8 (25,400) Seat 3: imweidhorn (9,325), is sitting out Seat 4: KwaziWabbit (8,010) Seat 5: harmony52 (16,340) Seat 6: Rizen (10,947) harryplug antes 25 yoren8 antes 25 imweidhorn antes 25 KwaziWabbit antes 25 harmony52 antes 25 Rizen antes 25 harryplug posts the small blind of 120 yoren8 posts the big blind of 240 The button is in seat #6 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to yoren8 [A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]] imweidhorn folds KwaziWabbit folds harmony52 folds Rizen raises to 720 harryplug folds yoren8 ? At time, I was thinking that reraising AJ here has to be very profitable considering this was his 3rd time raising my blind. Although, i was intending to 3-bet and fold to a 4-bet in this specific instance, so then my hand is essentially a bluff, no? I didn't like calling because I let him see a free flop w/ like T8o or K6s where he has position and probably isn't going to be making huge mistakes postflop. I spoke w/ chewy, and he seems to prefer a call since we dont know his 4-bet freq, and if he folds worse hands. He'd rather 3-bet w/ air. We agree that 3-betting is profitable, but he feels calling is even more profitable. |

I think I would just three bet call a shove.

3 bet - the fact that you cover him by 2.5x helps.

If the past two times he's been on the button it's gone raise-fold, i dont think he's going to decide to 4 bet you light here (i think he'd fold AT)
If we had 3bet the A4s hand and taken it down preflop, then i like 3bet calling significantly more. |

Re: Tilt 6-max $109, Another Basic PF spot vs. Rizen
We repopped him the 2nd time he raised the button, right?
I doubt our hand is worth much more than 5BBs, playing OOP against a good player. That is what we win if he folds pf, so I am inclined to take it now. If we were to raise to 3500, and jam the flop (and call a push preflop), I would really doubt he could call profitably with the vast majority of his range. Not that I think that is necessarily the best line, but I think it is more profitable than a call. I don't know what Rizen's 4-bet range is here, but given we have done this in the last 2 orbits, I can't imagine folding AJ, which is pretty high in our expected range from his spot. |
