Default Wong Teasers!

Hello,

I'm an avid poker player and make five figures a year from the game but very inexperienced handicapper. I'm allocating $1000 to be used for wagering on the NFL ths season and I'll only be betting on Wong teased games. I've read about them and I believe I have an understanding of how they work but I'd appreciate any advice people can give me.

Considering my $1000 roll, how much should I be wagering on each wong teased game? I assume that this fixed amount goes up as the roll goes up and down as the roll goes down.

Right now I'm going to look over the week 1 games and list my Wong plays on this thread. I'd appreciate any help I can get.

thanks.

First of all, you should make sure that particular bet is +ev for you, bet size should be adjusted according to kelly criterion.

For a good rule of thumb, bet 1% of your roll on a given game. (I bet 1% on games that I can't quantify my edge, sometimes even less)

For example, if team A at +100 at a sportsbook where you think the true price should be -110, kelly will tell you to bet 1.2% of your roll on team A.

So, to sum up, base the bet amount at $10 a game to start with.

My book is Pinny. Right now there seems be three WonG games to tease.

Carolina +7.5 odds = +100
Detroit +7.5 odds = -104(not even money, is this one OK?)
Baltimore +8.5 odds = +100

So I'd tease bet.....

Carolina and Detroit
Carolina and Baltimore
Detroit and Baltimore

Still not sure what unit is recommended to put on each. Remember my roll is $1000 but am I understanding this correctly? and is that Detroit game ok to include since it's not even money?

Is pinny the best book for this? Seems like alot of games are sitting at 3. Would be alot more WonG bets if those lines would drop .5 point.

Later.

Thanks, ImNew. I'm only betting Wong teasers and aren't all these bets expected to be +Ev. My point is....I'm not going to try and handicap games myself. I'm just experimenting with this WonG system that seems to have proven success.

I see four wongable games now, Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars & New England Patriots. However, I would not touch Baltimore Ravens, as they are +2.5 +100 on side at pinny.

If you want to tease 3 teams, you might want to add a 3-teamer on Carolina, Detroit & Baltimore (but I would not recommend that since I don't like the price on Baltimore).

You need all the teased games to win so you'd consider the teaser price as a whole, not individually. At pinny the odd is +100 for 2-6pt teasers, and that's a good price.

There is no single best book for teasers, some sites offer better price in a certain type of teasers than others, you should always shop for the best price before you place a bet.

lol....
success for wong, maybe, after all he's the cat cashing in on book sales. it's never this straightforward from a bettor's standpoint, and you should know this being a successful card player. I'm not here to troll this thread, but it seems a tremendous waste and hazardous pitfall for successful and accomplished card players to throw money at what's perceived as a "sure thing" when it comes to sports betting. If everyone's winning Wong Teasers, then why would anyone book these bets???

Always terrible logic and advice on these forums. Really I mean no such thing as easy money sportsbetting.

Just like the College Football favs/overs dogs/under system that went 11-4 this weekend.

Okay actually the above is good money. There is a reason why 95% of books won't allow those CFB parlays but they are money if you have a local or a book who will still take them.

Lots of haters of the Wong Parlays. If you believe they are +EV bets then they are a good thing, if you believe all parlays are -EV bets then they are the devil.

Huh? Both JAX and NE are 6.5 pt favs which puts them outside of meeting the criteria for basic strategy (Wong)teasers. And why would you eliminate Balt +2.5 because they are +100?

OP if you are round robining *Wong* teasers this week your plays so far are:
Carolina +7.5
Detroit +7.5
Baltimore +8.5

I managed to get the five following teams:
Kansas
Atlanta
Miami
Baltimore
Green Bay
All @ +8.5 at even money with 5dimes..
Round Robined all combs of 2,3,4 plus one 5 teamer.
Det are also avaiable at +1.5 if you look hard enough i just couldnt get them at 5dimes so decided to leave it.
