[200nl] Flop decision with QQ on K high board
Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $1/$2 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)
SB: $407.25 Hero (BB): $219.70 UTG: $95.00 MP: $207.75 CO: $235.85 BTN: $280.65 Preflop: Hero is dealt Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 Players) 2 folds, CO raises to $7, 2 folds, Hero raises to $23, CO calls $16 Flop: ($47) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $35, CO raises to $70, Hero ??? Villain is unknown, I've seen him limpfold in MP (raiser was in the blinds so he would've had position too), so I do not believe he's a strong player. I've used that line sometimes as a bluff, and I was wondering what kind of range do you see it being done by not so good players in REraised pots. |

meh, nasty spot. you should decide if your going to play for stacks here (not saying its bad, but vs. unknown id be less hesitant to stack off here). i would prob dump in this spot.
consider checking flop in the future. |

Check/call - WA/WB yada...been discussed many times.
As played, dump against a relative unknown with a read that his relatively fishy. |

Check flop? Seriously? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, seriously. If you're not sure you would want to call a raise when you bet, you should check-call instead. Don't turn your hand in to a bluff. |

[/ QUOTE ] if you check-call flop here, how often do you get to the showdown without facing more heat? If we check call, are we in check/fold on turn river mode, check/call, or what? |

i'm not a fan of cc flop. i generally hate turning my hands into bluffs, but i like doing it here.
i'd just fold now. |

Re: [200nl] Flop decision with QQ on K high board
Yeah, I was hesitant about checking because I thought I'm forfitting the hand too often to a worse hand (since you do get a bet most of the time when you do check). Soooo, against an unknown, c/c once and fold to turn push is the standard line?
I just don't think I've like ever check called here, but it does make a lot of sense, lol. If I had like JJ, or TT, then, betting would make more sense, right? Since I could potentially get QQ- to fold (which still beats me) |
