Fun uNL factoid: 35% of uNL hands posted can be responded to with the phrase "Hero's bet sizing sux" Discuss. [/ QUOTE ] I think this can be answered with "it depends", often times hero's betsizing looks bad becuase we are playing in a vacuum as gelford describes it.... in reality I think there are situations where bets look really donkish--- but were very +ev for a particular villain/situation and then turned out badly, and even though we knew why we did what we did at the time, we question ourselves and then decide to post and proceed to get massacred by the general forum, just to reassure our second guessing. Now if you play that donk bet the every time in the same situation, well then, your betsizing does suck. But in the end, when you make a bet your only really thinking a couple things if your hand is good---- whats my maximum value in this situation that I can bet and get villain to call or if your hand is bad---- what is the least i can bet to push villain off a marginal hand that beats my garbage |

I might also note, if your in the habit of posting hands, especially ones you want feedback on that don't include results....
It is a good idea to mix the hands you post 50/50 of hands you won and hands you lost most posters have a tendency to only post hands they lost, to see what they did wrong, you should also post hands you won, b/c often times you didn't get as much value out of it as you could have, or maybe you played it wrong, but noone has to know that you actually won the hand. |

My [censored] white devil dog (KImo, if you hadnt guess it) bit my one year and half son today at 12:30 pm est. At 1:15 pm ESt I had taken to the vet for the euthanasia and rage tests. [censored] [censored] [censored] THE DOG! And I loved him so much...[censored] [censored] him. Now I just hope everything will be fine about the rage and my kid. [censored] [censored] [censored] THAT DOG. He's gone! Should I play 100/200NL or my state of mind is too shaky and should dump BIs at 2NL? |

Think I need to mix in more losses though. I try to find winning hands that aren't standard, sometimes I end up posting standard ones though. Hate when that happens. |
