it's grossly unfair to tax gambling winnings and not allow you to write off gambling losses against your tax bill.

It's only really unfair for professional gamblers, and most pros shouldn't have losing years...

I'm not based in the States and avoid travelling there except when compelled to do so by work, so don't have to deal with this nonsense, but if I choose to high card with a friend for 5 bucks, I should not have to pay the Government a cut of my winnings if I win. Of course, in some states, high carding with a friend would be illegal. Enjoy your freedom.

Don't know if we "won", but it sounds like we topped the leaderboard in frags!

Yup, petrol is ten dollars per gallon in the UK. That's why we don't drive tanks to work (or SUVs, as I believe you guys call them).

It's about 10c per gallon in Venezuela.

BTW, Virgin Poker offers £, $ and euros. Small site, but 99% fresh fish.

The latest spending proposal brings the total current fiscal year request for Iraq, Afghanistan and counterterrorism operations to $196.4 billion, by far the largest annual tally since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. If approved by Congress in its entirety, it would bring the total appropriated since then to more than $800 billion. At their current rate, war appropriations could reach $1 trillion by the time Bush leaves office, a total that by some measures would exceed the cost of the Korean and Vietnam wars combined.
